Stock photography consists of existing photographs that can be
licensed for specific uses.

You can earn an income by submitting your photos to stock photography sites. Submit only your best photos at first because stock photo sites are pretty strict about accepting your photos (at least until you've submitted quite a few).

Buyers of stock photography save time and money (cheaper than hiring their own photographer to do the same thing), but they also give up
creative control of the photos. Most buyers don't care about that so much though.

Try this: click this link, sign up and begin submitting ten of your favorite photos to this stock photo site. Once your pictures are approved, as you submit more photos, you will get paid every time someone downloads one of your photos. If 100 people download one of your photos you will get paid 100 times just for that one
photo.

Stock photo sites allow you to make money over and over again from
just one photo. Try this: Here's another site you can use - Submit Your Photos.

Good luck in your submissions,

Till next time. You could also resize and package them onto T-shirts, coffee mugs, vases, glass ornaments, window decals, bumper stickers, posters or giant posters, coloring books, photologs, photostory books etc.

You could actually make a business of photography if you put out the effort required to do it. Some people kind of stumble into the business side of digital photography when they have initial success selling their stock images of furniture or happy faces or flower-arranged vases or sports images to magazines, textbook publishers etc. $100-250+ a day is possible if you're reasonably well-organized and you keep your photos properly indexed like an encyclopedia in alphabetical file folders in a filing cabinet AND ALSO on CD-ROMS or DVDs, you copyright your photos, and if you contact the growing number of photo-buyers online and off, domestic and internationally-based to build your business. It's always best to build up your stock of photos in your file cabinet before approaching resellers.

Yes, it is possible to make a business out of your hobby. You do however at some point need to decide if your income will be considered business income or personal income derived from your hobby. You might be saying to yourself "Who Cares?"

The IRS cares a lot about anyone making unreported income. The IRS and other government bureaucracies want to determine if you're a hobbyist or a business. Never mind the legal issues involved here. Most anyone who has viewed Aaron Russo's 'Freedom to Fascism' knows the IRS operates unconstitutionally and that there is no current or explicit law that grants the US Government the power to tax a US citizen's personal income.

You need to ignore all the facts and simply understand that the IRS auditors and agents have their own families to support and are 'just doing their jobs' - same as you and me. Whatever they do, remember, it's never personal. Forgive and forget. After all, it's only your money. They want you to be fair and honest in reporting your income to them. After all, we do have a voluntary system of reporting.

You do not want them to determine that you're only a hobby and not a real business. If you've been deducting expenses, you would want to be considered a legitimate business. To avoid IRS scrutiny, you should keep yearly sets of receipts of expenses you incur for lenses, camera bodies, tripods, memory cards, file folders, photo paper, photo editing software, postage, gasoline, RT mileage driven, repairs.

The IRS will want to see a pattern of purchasing behavior that shows you are serious about your business. Advertising expenses would almost always be included in your receipts - that shows your work is for sale.

Keep all your personal expenses like groceries, power, water and tel bills separate from your business expenses like those mentioned above. If you file as a sole proprietor like most photographers, you need to complete a Schedule 'C' to your 1040 form detailing all your expenses. The Schedule C let's the IRS know that you have a business and expenses related to it.

Smart photographers who are serious about their business and who are organized will organize their business as an LLC (Limited Liability corporation or an 'S' Corporation. Doing this almost always convinces the IRS that you are serious about doing business with your camera and are not just another photo hobbyist claiming expenses on your tax return.

Decide what you want to do with your camera equipment and software. Any questions or comments about this topic/blog are welcome. What are you doing to generate sales for your photo business? How do you organize your photos? Got a favorite pic? Post it here or post a link to it here for others to see.

Need a digital camera? or a Great Book on the Subject?
Try video.equipmentsaleslive.info

How To Do Web Video Streams ....

How to do web video streams from your own computer is the title of this post. You and I both know that posting good video is a great way to get noticed and make a name for yourself. Hordes of marketers are trying to find the best and lowest-cost way to produce their own pro-type videos online and in their emails. Videos are often more interesting. To avoid it, move your flash off-axis and choose a connecting cord and flash bracket. Then simply bounce the flash off of something like a wall or ceiling. An alternative is to use a remote flash trigger to keep the flash off the camera.

After you transfer your digital images from your media card to your laptop or computer, make sure the photos open up and are saved off of the camera’s card before you delete the files. I.E. don’t accidentally delete the images without saving them elsewhere and making sure they are really there first. That can be a bummer, especially with wedding photos or other important 1-time occasions where you can’t do re-takes.

Always carry along extra batteries, your re-charger and adapter, equipment instructions and an extra media card or two. You never know where you might need your supplies, and don’t want to miss great shots.

If you want to use your photos that have people in them, plan ahead and find simple permission forms to print out and stash in your photo bag. To locate forms, search online for “permission for photos form” and customize one for your own company or private brand. Check in local library photography books for a quick one to print out, too, or at a local professional photo shop for other sources.

Try to get something to compare size with in your photos. For example, instead of just taking a shot of a flower, place your hand in the background as if you’re gently holding or caressing it in the palm of your hand – only without actually touching it.

Well, I'm about ready to wrap up this tip on digital photography. I’ll be back soon with another lesson….

In the meantime, you are invited to zoom full speed ahead and check out a copy of, “Digital Photography Mastery,” a complete ebook packed full of helpful information, downloadable immediately after payment of $47 (a good price for the info inside and a money-back guarantee). If you post a video, YouTube will place an advertisement at either the beginning or end of your video. It really doesn't even have to be your video as I understand it. This should happen as early as the end of 2007.

So where did YouTube come up with such a brilliant idea? Not on their own, I assure you. Other sites are already offering revenue sharing. Sites like Revver which is a video sharing site that splits advertising revenue 50-50 with the creator of the video. There is also Brightcove that does pretty much the same thing. You can also sell your videos so they can be syndicated on other sites.

Yes, there are a lot of ways to make money with digital cameras - including videos. Google and Yahoo and AOL are into the video business too and have started including video ads etc.

The online world is in a constant state of ebb and flow. What's important is for you to get a decent digital camera, learn to use it and start submitting your photos and videos to various sites to start making a little money. This trend will only grow.

Just try to create something decent. Lately, I've been seeing some total garbage that doesn't deserve to be seen by anyone. Spare us if you won't take the time to plan your shots and storyboard. If a photo contest doesn't offer cash prizes, it almost always will offer some kind of prize to the winner(s). Some contests have separate entries for amateurs and professionals. Some are limited to amateurs. Remember that if you are selling your 'stock photographs', you may not qualify as an amateur.

So where are these photo contests? A few reputable ones are National Geographic and its sister publications from the National Geographic Society . They regularly sponsor photo contests.

The Everyman contest awards cash prizes and it's a good one to start with. Amateurs are creating much of what you see and are cashing in on the trend.

Stock Photographs:

Stock photos often appear on the internet and in printed publications. Publishers are beginning to use stock photographs instead of hiring photographers for their work.

If you want to get in on this trend, your photos need to be good or at least editable enough to command some attention. Composition, lighting and technical qualities need to be good. Those who use a good photo-editing software suite can get a good head start on making their pics stand out from the crowd.

What's in Demand?

Travel photos and photos of people sell well. The more interesting the subject is, the better.
If you have a portfolio of images, you can list your photos on websites like www.istockphoto.com
or www.dreamstime.com or www.bigstockphoto.com . By far the biggest “cost” was the time required to do all these things (though money was still an important factor). In those days, even an established professional required a major infrastructure to finance and manage the kind of photo volume necessary to generate enough business to live on.

The only workable way to make enough money to support a family was to have an employer or agency handle marketing and sales to customers. To get this, photographers invested a lot of time in their craft to accumulate the experience, credibility and portfolio necessary if they were to have a chance with an agency or employer. It truly was rare for everyday people to make any money at photography, regardless of how talented they were.

During the 1990s, the price of quality digital equipment and output became accessible to the consumer, bringing down the time and costs of producing professional-quality images.

Additionally, the Internet created a place that allowed people to bypass the distribution barriers of the past. Today, anyone with quality consumer-level equipment and an Internet connection can make their images instantly available to billions of people around the world.

Click This Link For more information on Digital Cameras for home and business use.

Time and financial investments are low enough that anyone can make some degree of money with their photography. However, because of its accessibility, the Internet photography market has been flooded with millions of eager snap-shooters.

The good news is that the market has also exploded to include millions of eager buyers, many of whom might never have bought images if not for the Internet. This is great for you and me – the little guys with little cameras that require no film processing.

Yes, there are still parts of the photo industry that require considerable time, effort, and other resources but the nature of today’s industry and the marketplace allows everyday people to achieve a modest income without having to make photography a full-time career. Making money at photography takes effort, no matter what level of income you’re aiming for. If it were easy, everyone would succeed, which certainly isn’t the case.

The important thing to remember is that making money with photography is more about good business sense than anything else.
In starting a photography business, the question is not so much what to do, but rather how you should do it. There are no secret formulas or checklists that assure success. Achieving your business goals will only come as the result of a careful analysis of what works and what doesn’t for your particular lifestyle and long-term artistic and financial objectives.

This digital photography blog will become a tool that you can use to make more intelligent decisions about issues that come up as you set yourself up and begin making money with your photography!

Return often and feel free to make comments or add information if need be.

Click This Link For more information on Digital Cameras for home and business use.

digital photography, photography business,making money with
digital cameras
Digital Photography
Photography Business
making money with digital cameras
Try video.equipmentsaleslive.info

FastSnap Looking For digital Photographers Til March 07

Digital Photography

This offer was emailed to me today and I thought it fit perfectly with my goal on this blog (to let people know that they can make money with their digital cameras.

Enjoy.

FastSnap will be expanding its online photo service to the Midwest
effecive 3/1/07.

We're currently accepting photographers in Illinois, Indiana, Ohio,
Michigan, Kentucky, and Wisconsin.

FastSnap customers turn to our web site whenever they need photos of
any kind of property, including residential, commercial, vehicles,
streets, or intersections.

You can think of FastSnap as a marketplace for independent contractors
who want to offer digital photo services in their local area. FastSnap
customers select the photographer they want from a list of
photographers available for the zip code where the property is
located. In other words, we match buyers (people who need photos) with
sellers (people who are willing to go out and take the photos). You'll
compete against other service providers on price and turnaround.

You MUST have a digital camera, preferably with a built-in optical
zoom, and understand how to operate the camera. Since most of our
customers are looking for photos of residential or commercial
properties, relevant experience in any kind of real estate, insurance,
or mortgage field services would be helpful.

FastSnap photographers must be able to meet fast deadlines. While you
should consider this PART TIME work, you must be able to do the photo
jobs during normal business daylight hours, and you must be able to
meet the time service parameters you set. For most urban locations,
our customers expect photos to be delivered in 3 to 5 business days.
If you are already doing field service work, this is a good source of
additional income.

If you would like to offer your services, go to
http://www.fastsnap.com, create a photographer account, and enter the
zip codes you will serve. You can sign up for as many zip codes as you
want, and establish the fee you will charge the customer for each job.
The minimum fees are $10-$13. You can add a Location Surcharge for
zip codes over 18 miles from your home. After you sign up, be sure to
read the document "Designing an Effective Marketing Plan for FastSnap"
before setting up your territory.

We have been in business in the California since 2001 and expanded to
the East coast last year. Please note that at this time we are
only accepting photographers in the following states:

Southeast: Florida, Georgia, North Carolina, South Carolina
East: New York, New Jersey, Massachusetts, Rhode Island, Connecticut,
Pennsylvania, Virginia, Maryland, DC, Delaware
West: California, Arizona, Nevada, Oregon, Washington
Midwest: Illinois, Indiana, Ohio, Michigan, Kentucky, Wisconsin

We will be seeking photographers in other parts of the country within
the next few months, and we will post the job on this board. We won't
respond to job seekers outside of the states listed, but we will
notify you when service will begin in your area.

For more information, please check out http://www.fastsnap.com

These are real clouds by the way!
Try video.equipmentsaleslive.info

New Digital Photography Resource Book

digital photography work

The <a href=http://bas52.camera.hop.clickbank.net">“Camera Dollars Income System eBook” written by Brian Moore claims to contain everything you need to know to make money with your digital camera. It should be pointed out here that this is one of the only books currently available on the market today with the type of hardnosed information and resources those doing digital photography work need. Other books have outdated or dead links – or are primarily educational or theoretical.

This is not the case here since the author of the book has been earning a very high income for more than two years using this system. It should also be pointed out that the author continues to make his living as a free-lance digital photographer. His advice is timely and useful. This didn't surprise me since earning money with digital photography is a fairly recent phenomenon and not much timely 'how to' has been published in recent years. In this eBook, you’ll learn:

How to earn ongoing residual revenue 24/7 from each digital photo you submit online;

About a relatively unknown photography market that is exploding thanks to the internet;

How to ensure you are getting the best fee possible for each photo you submit online;

How NOT to get taken advantage of and how to ensure you are paid a fair price for your photos;

Resources to find out what buyers are looking for and why buyers are buying photos;

Who pays the highest rates – and how to market your photos to buyers so they will come back again and again for your work;

Ideas to create multiple streams of income from your digital photos such as turning your photos into saleable screen savers;

How to find websites that will practically beg you for your photos - and who’ll be willing to pay a premium for each photo you submit to them!;

How to select the right keywords to use with your photos – use the wrong keywords and your sales may slowly suffer, use the right keywords and sales will soar!;

What a "field rep" is and how you can start providing this in-demand service immediately;

How to sell your images on your own website and keep all the profits for yourself – includes advice on how to post your photos on a web page, how to flood your site with traffic and how to write copy;

How to sell your images offline in your own profitable brick and mortar photography store!;

How to make money in the competitive world of celebrity gossip sites – these tips are extremely powerful and will give you a leg up on your competition;

How to take pictures of sporting events and sell them online – follow Brian's tips and he promises you'll make money!;

How to make your images look professional for extra cash even if you are an amateur just starting out – Brian shows how to get the perfect shot every time with your digital camera!;

What to take pictures of – find out what types of images are in the most demand in this chapter!;

How to sell your digital photography work on eBay – Brian gives some great tips on this and makes it so simple;

There’s a lot more helpful information in the book regarding the finer points of setting up your business. There's not much fluff.

One of the impressive things that became apparent after I had finished the book was that digital photography work does not require you to buy expensive digital photography equipment, create any websites, ship anything, get involved with adult or pornographic content, or to have any special computer skills. It also does not require any extensive customer support – the bane of many small businesses.

The fact is that digital photography work is growing faster than the supply of photographers available.

Photographers are needed worldwide – and thanks to the abilities of the Internet anyone who will take the time to read and follow the instructions in this book has a very good chance of earning a very good part-time income or an excellent full-time income as a digital photographer selling photos online. Because all work is submitted online, this is work one can do from anywhere in the world where there is an internet connection. Upload the pictures you take onto the internet (the guide tells you exactly how and where).

This is a comprehensive guide that leaves nothing to chance. It even describes and gives references to the types of images that are most in demand and where and how to upload your photos for residual monthly income!

All in all, this is a helpful and practical how to guide for any person wanting to do digital photography work online.

Reviewed by Bruce Santucci
digital photography work
Try video.equipmentsaleslive.info

Digital Photography Work

digital photography work

Digital Photograph work today may never command the price that Edward Steichen's "The Pond--Moonlight" did in February, 2006. Of course the techniques and materials used in digital photography work today versus the equipment, techniques and materials used in 1904 are completely different animals. How many gum bichromate prints have you ever seen or worked with? Edward Steichen felt comfortable in his medium. The photograph above is one of three existing bichromate prints that Steichen made from the same negative. It had been part of the Gilman Paper company collection of 8,500 images acquired by the Netropolitan Museum of Art in 2005. Since the MET already owned one of the other prints of the image (the third is at the Museum of Modern Art in New York), the museum decided to sell it along with other material at Sotheby's auction.

The bidding at the auction was hectic and frenzied but in the end astonished everyone observing by bringing in $14,982,900! The digital photography work currently spreading throughout the world simply is not ready for prices like these. Many art insiders think the results reflect a steep, upward trend in prices for photography work in general. In November, 2005, a Richard Prince image became the first single photographic work to break the $1 million dollar barrier. Edward Steichen's single image above sold for $2.928,000 dollars! The most expensive single photographic image sold to date putting it in the higher echelons of painted images. "The Pond---Moonlight" was taken in Mamaroneck, New York, near Long Island Sound when the photographer was in his mid-twenties.

The enormous sale price is certainly a good omen for the future of photographic images and especially so for images created with digital photographic equipment and special effects that can render perfection out of anything a creative imagination can come up with. Digital photography work is still in its childhood. The art that digital photography work brings to us is unique and personal to each photographer. As prices for digital images rise, more and more digital photographers will make the world their stage. In the near future, 'a picture that is worth a thousand words' may also be 'worth' a thousand dollars.

digital photography work
Try video.equipmentsaleslive.info

Digital Photography Work

digital photography work

Welcome to my digital photography work blog.
